If $ sudo wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf fails, there is a possibility that SUbsystem 104d:8175 has a Conexant chip. Fake a Conexant chip with: ./scanModem test 8086:284b 17aa:20ac and follow the directions for hsfmodem installation. Report back presently.
