The compile has been successful with more recent kernels upto 2.6.15
No one is going to try to fixes for code of an older kernel.

More broadly this is a difficult modem without formal support, and
only a few successes.
You should consider buying another modem, following guidance of
InfoGeneral.txt output by scanModem.
