Ales RE: error: period size 48 is not supported by playback (64). Sadly this is a known and reported problem. The ALSA maintainer reports that the problem is not in the snd-hda-intel, but rather in the slmodemd helper uitlity. The request for a fix has already been passed to maitainer Sasha.
