RE: 00-06: Si3054 Modem : Si3054 Modem : playback 1 : capture 1predicts that if you boot your Linux version 2.6.18-4-amd64 (Debian 2.6.18.dfsg.1-12etch2)in 32 bit modem, the modem will be setup by:$ su - root# slmodemd -c CZECH_REPUBLIC --alsa hw:0,6the modem will setup, using the snd-hda-intel driver which on yourSystem, also supporting the audio functions of1002:437b Audio device: ATI Technologies Inc SB450 HDA Audio
slmodemd is a non-driver utility. Get it by:> Download from http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/smartlink/> the package SLMODEMD.gcc4.0.tar.gz having a compiled slmodemd. Unpack under Linux with:> $ tar zxf SLMODEMD.gcc4.1.tar.gz> and read instructions therein. But briefly, the modem is setup with command:> sudo slmodemd -c CZECH_REPUBLIC --alsa hw:0,6> reporting dynamic creation of ports:> /dev/ttySL0 --> /dev/pts/N , with N some number> Read Smartlink.txt in the package
