About problems with 64 bits drivers

It would be interesting to hear from Linux users what they gain in real
life when using their machines in 64 bits mode rather than 32, except
for the "sentimental satisfaction" to make full use of what they have
purchased.

May I suggest the reading of the following Web pages,?

1- http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/534

2- http://cnlart.web.cern.ch/cnlart/2007/001/8

The second comes from CERN ( http://cern.ch ), a major international
research center, the place where the Web (aka Internet, lousily
speaking) was born to fill the needs of more than 5,000 scientists
working around this center, read well over 25,000 computers : yes. Two
in my office plus a laptop, five in the lab shared by the six of us, plus one at least per member in my group.
Then my next job is to install in our lab, for the same 6 people a farm
of 250. What for? See: http://eu-datagrid.web.cern.ch/eu-datagrid/
Now addup and get 260, divide by 6 (local members) and multiply by 5,000 (of whom not all install a local GRID farm)

Article #2 does show that using the 64 bits mode of 64 bits processors is not the major concern of such a users community.

In case I did not make myself clear so far, let me end by stating that
although my present car is able to reach the speed of 180 km/, I am
very satisfied with it in my country where speed is limited to never
more than 100 km/h.
