I just remember using pulse in the win 95 days :) tone got me the same results though. I tried in windows and it also was uncapable of getting more than 31000; but a V.90 modem in a laptop was able to connect to 48000 minutes later same service, also using pulse. I have another rs56 modem I'll have to find a windoze driver for it and try it too. Weird both conexant and linuxant drivers working like that. Btw when in the free mode with linuxant at 14400 I did a dslreports dialup test and I got 12 kb/s download speed. I also started to download a iso and got 8,9,10 it even got to 11 kb/s in peaks and it used V.44 compression I thought that was supposed to be used only with V.92 connections. Why do you use ATDP ? If you can't use ATDT you possibly are connected to some very old exchange not capable of handling ATDP.
