RE: Still the same message about the proxy ARP.
Ignore it.  Just try:
$ ping -c2  217.146.186.221
which should return:
PING 217.146.186.221 (217.146.186.221) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from 217.146.186.221: icmp_seq=1 ttl=48 time=98.9 ms
64 bytes from 217.146.186.221: icmp_seq=2 ttl=48 time=99.3 ms

and then the names address:
$ ping -c 2   yahoo.co.uk
which should return:
PING yahoo.co.uk (217.146.186.221) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from rc1.vip.ird.yahoo.com (217.146.186.221): icmp_seq=1
ttl=48 time=100 ms

in which case you will be able to browse.

If still a problem see the PostInstall Howto at

I can close the eth0 channel by deselecting the Wirded
connection in network-admin. I get this, when the
dial-up connetion is on (that is output of plog and
ifconfig):

Still the same message about the proxy ARP. Could this
have something to do with the DNS servers or search
domains (given in network-admin)?
