Additionally, this response likely reflects an independent bug in
snd-hda-intel, which has inadvertently killed some modems.  A "fix"
eliminated service at 9600 mH, which was not manifestly needed for
anything.  However, there is a constitutent of Proprietary slmodemd
code pre-compiled by Smartlink, inc., which requires 9600 services.
slmodemd maintainer Sasha K recognized this problem and  advised the
ALSA snd-hda-intel maintainer, TI.  TI has provided the first version
of a correction,  However while it cured the
cannot setup hw params for playback: Invalid argument
it has not fully supported a dialout yet.

All will be alerted when the fix is complete.

I had already tried to use wvdial and I also added the "Carrier Check =  no"
option to the configuration file but dialing out with wvdial I got
the "NO CARRIER" error.
