Ajnos,
From http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/hsf/full/downloads-ubuntu-x86.php
get the for your kernel 2.6.17-10-generic the package hsfmodem_7.60.00.02full_k2.6.17_10_generic_ubuntu_i386.deb.zip Under Linux unpack $ unzip hsf*.zip Start the install with: $ sudo hsf*.deb and follow the output instructions. If the install succeeds, run: $ sudo wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf which should find the modem. Edit in your personal information with: $ sudo gedit /etc/wvdial.conf To a form like: [Dialer Defaults] Baud = 115200 Modem = /dev/ttySHF0 Init1 = ATZ init2 = AT+GCI=7e # 7e is the NEW_ZEALAND country code Init3 = ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0 Modem Type = Analog Modem Phone = 3015560020 ISDN = 0 Username = LoginName Password = LoginPassword Then try a dialout with wvdial. Please report back. MarvS On 3/16/07, Linuxant support (Jonathan) <support@xxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:
Hi, the VIA HDA bus with PCI ID 1106:3288 is supported by the current version of the HSF driver (7.60.00.02). As far as I know, we have not tested this specific setup (Conexant modem on a VIA HDA bus) but it is likely to work well. If not, the user should send a dump to support@xxxxxxxxxxxxx The dump can be generated with the 'hsfconfig --dumpdiag' command in a root shell.
