If you get this

NO DIALTONE
--> No dial tone.
--> Disconnecting at Tue Mar 13 21:40:25 2007

all of the time, check your telephone line, connect a
phone, dial a number.  Do you hear the dialtone?

Otherwise the problem is no longer with slmodemd or
wvdial.
