Hi Marvin, First - really appreciate the efforts your all make to get these nasty modems to work on linux. Any way am still suffering with win modems and other compatible stuff This is the result of trying wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf ram@ram:~$ sudo wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf Password: Editing `/etc/wvdial.conf'. Scanning your serial ports for a modem. Sorry, no modem was detected! Is it in use by another program? Did you configure it properly with setserial? Please read the FAQ at http://open.nit.ca/wiki/?WvDial If you still have problems, send mail to <wvdial-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx>. ** What Next ??? Will try the regular winmodem as well - the reason I want to set this serial to usb stuff is because the phone it connects to is partly mobile (IFWT) allowing me the advantage of limited mobility.
