Renate,
1-Please ALWAYS write to discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx , not to me (I am one,
discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx are many, people who can help).
2-Please use scanModem to send us the file ModemData.txt
The attached file tells how to do that.

Dear Csanyipal,
Antonio has already answered to you.
Just out of curiosity, I would like to know where you took
ltmodem-2.6-alk-8 from.
Most people take it from
http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/ltmodem/kernel-2.6/
where I had placed an empty file named
Go_to_martian_for_kernels_above_2.6.12
just to warn people !!!!

Hello List!
I try to install ltmodem-2.6-alk-8 on my Debian Etch system that has
kernel 2.6.17.
I get error messages:
Thanks for your answer. Martian-Modem doesn´t work. - martian_modem
- there ist no modem found. No PCI-Modem and no usb-modem.
I don´t no why, but now I have a data.slusb in /var/lib/slmodem.
Data.slusb is now found, but Microsoft 56k Fun USB fails with no carrier.
Do you know, what I can do.
happy new year

Is there a solution for this?
I appreciate any advices!
P.S.: Happy New Year! :)
Please be kind enough to supply to us the file Modem/ModemData.txt which
will be produced using scanModem under Linux.
Web page http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/first.html explains to pedestrians
how to do that, in particular if you currently must use Internet under
Windows.
People with some Linux experience may directly see
