There is easy workaround regarding flex. The newest version doesn't work. I had the same problem - and i had recent versions of flex, bison etc. It works if you remove recent flex and install older vesion: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/lex/flex-2.5.27.tar.bz2?download
