Hi all,

I use KDE 3.4.0 under Fedora Core 3.
I have the following problem: when I'm logged as a normal user and try
to acquire ROOT privileges, i.e. to modify date and time, the
operation doesn't work; moreover, if I try to open the Konqueror file
manager with ROOT privileges, I get the following error:
"Authentication Rejected, reason : none of the authentication
protocols specified are supported and host-based authentication
failed"
What's the problem?
Previously I have used KDE 3.3.2 and there was no problem.
Hope someone could help.

You are missing, or something can't find, the security protocol libraries. Probably, OpenSSL or PAM.
