i tried to use external application with kopete for playing this sound (amarok) but when a message happen, no sound

petered out unconclusive. For my part, I use SuSE 9.1pro, and playing the sounds with artsplay work nice. But if I try the test-button from Notifications (not the main one in the sound-hardware setup), it will (and only there) not play. Changing in advanced the player-program did not change a thing. So to me it seems, that it is not imediatly sound related.
