OK. I have been around the world trying to understand the issues I believe I am having with kbuildsycoca.
OK again, I'm a newbie and the stuff I have read has not been understood.
I have resolved most issues that were holding up the quick opening of apps, both kde and others, but am completely stumped here so my posting may not be informative enough. Please advise on what I need to do to glean the info anyone here may require to help us out. In the meanwhile I have included a start point. Sorry about its size.
I have also issued as both user and root the $ kbuildsycoca and # kbuildsycoca --global but again, without success. Here's hoping this newbie is missing something right in front of me.
At least if someone could explain the last bit to me, maybe I can get on with finding things out for myself thence knowing where to look??

These are a known bug that does no harm, but it should be fixed sometime.

These WARNINGs are real problems with missing MIME types.
This bug was reported for version 3.2 and now it is back in 3.3.1.
