I've been reading up on the freedesktop site about how menus are built. What intrigues me is why Suse (I use 9.0) feel it necessary rework the menus that KDE provides if they comply with freedesktop already.
My intention was to have menus with KDE as the original and Suse merged as an additional set, not the other way round.
Any advice or ideas where to look for more info would be great
Well, if you want the KDE original menu, you can get the source code. The basic menu file: "/etc/xdg/menus/applications.menu" is in: "kdelibs/kded" but I'm not clear on where the other stuff in: "/etc/xdg/menus" comes from.
