Does anyone have any suggestions? You can add the target maildir as an inbox in Settings->Network (just like a POP3 or IMAP account) Then you can specify in which interval KMail updates the index based on the maildir content. I use the option "local mailbox" with mbox files for system mails for over a year now without any problems. I hope it works for maildir euqally well.
