Well there are 2 kdmrc files, one in etc/opt/kde3/share/config/kdm and another in /opt/kde3/share/config/kdm.
The first one is the file that Control Center updates when someone changes the kdm settings and it has the following entry SessionTypes=kde, gnome, windowmaker, blackbox, openbox, fvwm2,icewm,mwm,twm,failsafe
The second file has : SessionTypes=kde, gnome, windowmaker, mwm, twm, failsafe
The login widget only shows all the entries from the first file adding a Default and a Custom Entry but Gnome does not show up
Obviously, you have a configuration problem. ;-)
Normally, something like this is a distro issue, you should try a SuSE list for distro specific help.
All I can tell you is that this:
/etc/opt/kde3/share/config/kdm
is not a normal KDE directory location. However, your distro may have changed it. I really hate it when that happens. :-)
The other one:
/opt/kde3/share/config/kdm
would be considered a correct location although that is no longer the default for built from source.
Is it possible that your KDEDIR environment variable isn't set correctly since KDE should look for the file as:
$KDEDIR/share/config/kdm/kdmrc
Any SuSE users that could try to help here???
