Explore Mars With NASA at Home
The first helicopter designed to fly on another planet was officially named today! Ingenuity was the name selected in the contest-winning essay by Vaneeza Rupani, a junior at Tuscaloosa County High School in Northport, Alabama. Ingenuity will travel to the Red Planet on the belly of NASA's next Mars rover, Perseverance, and will mark the agency's first attempt at powered flight on another planet.
