On the old server, running as root :

Converting from /usr/pkg/etc/sasldb.bdb (berkeley) to
/usr/pkg/etc/newsasl.skiplist (skiplist)
fatal error: can't open old database
I'll fix you ..
Hi,
I've never used sasldb so I could be wrong but, I'm not sure converting
sasldb is the right thing to do here.
From what I understand sasldb is used trough SASL but noch directly by
Cyrus-IMAPd. Since sasldb is also used by postfix and others, and they
don't know about skiplist, how should it make sense to convert sasldb to
skiplist?
I got that impression too, it's used by saslauthd, not by cyrus
directly, and when I create a new sasldb, by using saslpasswd2 -c, I get
a ... Berkeley database!
They're all Berkeley db files :
# file sasl*
sasldb.db: Berkeley DB 1.85 (Hash, version 2, native byte-order)
sasldb2.berkeleydb: Berkeley DB 1.85 (Hash, version 2, native byte-order)
sasldb2.db: Berkeley DB 1.85 (Hash, version 2, native byte-order)
sasldb2.db.fcs: Berkeley DB 1.85 (Hash, version 2, native byte-order)
My older Cyrus config has this :
sasl_pwcheck_method: auxprop
I'm not exactly sure of how that works, I set it up, more than 10 years
ago and it's just worked ever since.
Sendmail seemed ok with it too, I'm wondering exactly how postfix will cope.
