Ok I have answered this one myself:
1. How to set up squatter in rolling mode on 3.0.7.
- have to set these in imapd.conf or squatter just says it's running but doesn't do anything:
sync_log: 1 sync_log_channels: squatter
- If search_engine: is not specified at all in imapd.conf, squatter appears to try and run in xapian mode, which is not included in RedHat packaged Cyrus, so it fails with the issues as described in these posts: Xapian search issues — Info Cyrus (spinics.net)
- set search_engine to squat in imapd.conf, and squatter now appears to run ok.
