Hi,

Quoting Milos Zupancic <miloszu@xxxxxxxxx>:

First i wanted to test the upgrade on a single user with a moderate amount
of mail.
I copied the mail folder, exported mailboxes.db to a text file and remove
no existent mailboxes and then recreate
mailboxes.db on the new server.
I also created user/*/ folders and copied .seen file to the correct folder

Then i started master and tried it with a mail client.
All mail is still marked as unread.

Did I missed a step in the upgrade ?

Do the files and folders have the correct ownership and permissions?
Do you see any errors in the cyrus logs?

 Hi,

We are planning to upgrade our mail server to the latest version from
2.3.15.
The problem i'm having is how do i preserve seen status. In 2.3.15 there
is
a .seen file but i was reading that this is now all in .index file.
So when i copied all the mailboxes to a test server the seen status was
not
preserved. (all mail was unread)

Any suggestions on how to handle this ?

Before Cyrus 2.4.x the seen status was stored in the userid.seen files
in the /<coconfigdirectory>/user directory or subfolders. Did you copy
these files?
