For better or worse, the current procedures require that the
Secretariat check volunteers for the Nomcom against attendance
lists. Barry's two suggestions and mine effectively adjust the
lists they use. Asking the candidates if they consider
themselves eligible instead would be a much more radical change/
adjustment.
