FWIW, you will recall that, at one point, interim meetings
required AD permission, permissions that was normally not
granted without a substantive reason as to why the work could
not be done on the mailing list.  There was also a strict
prohibition on WG interim meetings or equivalent within several
weeks prior to (or, I think after) and IETF meeting.  So, for
better or worse, you are arguing for a return to status quo
ante, not a new policy.
