Re: The Next Generation

Let me understand this.  You propose that the IETF engage in discriminatory behavior and you don't really understand why it might be considered a troll-like posting?

I'm not sure why you mentioned CAPPORT - AFAICT from the archives, you've never posted to the mailing list.   But seriously, the way to get a chair position for a specific group is to make the case to the AD.  If you've got good candidates, (or you want to volunteer yourself), seems like we'd be happy for the help.   Or get your feet wet by acting as an editor or even note-taker - maybe more work than a chair job and more thankless, but it's a known path to becoming a WG chair at some point.

Or act as a recruiter to get the candidates that can do the work.

In any event, I'm adding this thread to my kill file.

Later, Mike

This is pretty much the definition of a personal attack. But it's OK with me.

I am fine with it, and I would like Dan to feel free to send further messages along these lines.

thanks,

  BEGONE TROLL!

Hello Dan,

I don't think that is a very nice thing to say, but I like the text formatting.

Is there something that offends you about handing off IETF matters to a younger and more diverse set of members? After all, people will retire.

I would like to understand that concern.

It is my contention that you are trolling this list trying to get a rise out
of people. And I take exception to it.
That is my only concern. It might be
funny for you to see a whole bunch of people start arguing about "communities"
and their representation and things like that but it's trolling straight up.

  Dan.
