I scheduled a second side-meeting on the same topic on Wednesday. The Wednesday meeting had 35ish people, the Friday had below 20.

I ended up shortening my stay by ~22 hours and arrived home ~24h earlier as a result due to the flight schedules.

I didn’t have as many overlapping items as usual this time, but I think that’s due to some of the WGs being more aggressive about holding interims.

It also felt like attendance was down (but I haven’t done the obvious and check the registration numbers).

I did like the venue, it worked well. Plenty of food choices nearby and once I realized the shortcut to the train station via the park life was good.

I think the fact that there are 11pm/1am flights leaving BKK for where I live made things much better even if it was a full day Friday. I wish there were later flights to the US from Europe. I often end up leaving Prague 6am on Friday to get a connection home. I think this speaks more to BKK as a location we should revisit regardless of what happens with Fridays.
