This is not the same as quitting your high-paying job to teach math in an inner-city school. Those public service roles at least offer job security. ADs are up for re-election every two years.
If anything, we’re looking for the kind of people who quit a well-paying job to work in politics.
Some people might be in between jobs or looking for a change. If the
option is available, it might be used.
