I think we need to dig a bit deeper.
1) We'ved slowly moved from a meeting that started on Monday morning,
with a couple of tutorials for newcomers on Sunday afternoon, and an
early evening reception on Sunday for those whose flight arrived in time,
to a meeting that for many people starts on Saturday morning.
2) There's an apparent constant of nature, known as N(WG), that hovers
around 120, regardless of how many WGs are created and destroyed.
3) We have constant complaints that WGs hold too many presentation-based
pseudo-discussions and not enough actual discussions.
4) Partly because of 3), we have constant complaints that there isn't
enough informal discussion.
I'm not sure that dropping the Friday morning schedule will fix this.
But that doesn't mean the experiment is a bad thing. Just be prepared
for failure or unexpected consequences.
