Re: build personal contacts outside of meetings [was IETF 100, Singapore -- proposed path forward and request for input]

It’s very useful having the pictures on the WG info pages. However, it’s not a well-known resource for other purposes.

I use the WG chair photos on occasion to look up people, but they are not organized in any way to make them easily searchable or to be able to find the name of someone. If you know someone’s name and know that they are or were a WG chair at one point, you can usually find their picture there and that’s been useful. But if you want to look up “who is that person whose face I know”, that’s much harder. Not all WG chairs have been willing to have their pictures taken, so the database is not as complete as it should be. Some of the pictures have become rather dated, but are still useful. Finding the right name of the JPG file is sometimes challenging.

I've wondered about whether it would help/add to have pictures of IETFers associated

with their IETF datatracker account.   We do have a gallery of photos for WG chairs,

but I have no sense of how much those are used.

I sometimes wonder how much smoother conversations on email would go if

folks remembered whom was on the email, with that human touch.
