Hello Victor,

I would prefer we improve how we allow remote folks to comment and interact.  People in the room have a strong advantage when it comes to getting to a mic, and re-inserting themselves if rebutting a comment etc.  I think it's here were the remote folks lack the most participation.

I definitely agree with you on this point. We are trying to propose that *all* participants make use of a single virtual queue which allows them to take turns independently from their physical location (local/remote). See “Experiment 2” section on the remote participation experiment page we published for IETF93:

We did not eventually run such an experiment in Prague because it was deemed to be too much disruptive (for local participants). My personal opinion is that, like with all things, different people have different opinions: when we proposed the remote queue experiment for Prague, some of the chairs answered they were not at all in favor of a highly interactive participation by the remote attendees and they rather preferred to stick to the jabber-based relay approach.

Regards,

Simon

Oh and yes, all the hallway and beer conversations are sadly missed.

regards,

Victor K
