As a counterpoint, the first draft I submitted was submitted in 2011 (so I'm a 
recent arrival) and I've never been to an IETF meeting except for occasional 
remote participation.  I knew about the naming convention (I've no idea how), 
so I'm surprised everyone doesn't know.
