It also seems that much of this could be solved by recognizing that there are a large number of constraints already in place, that finding locations in which we fit is already tricky, and that, no matter what folk believe, the IAOC not actually a: comprised only of idiots, or b: malicious. Most folk on this list are engineers (or play one on TV) -- this naturally leads to 1: I know better, and 2: I can optimize this process, how hard can it be?! We are going to a location to get work done (or, at least, that's what I was led to believe), not hang out on a beach or sit in your hotel room, sipping Mai Tai's. We already have enough of a problem with folk not being able to justify attending meetings because their managers think that it is a boondoggle that complaint about perhaps, maybe, not being able to see the sunset from your window doesn't help.
