Since you asked,  the IAB spoke on this subject as one voice last year
when the OpenStand RFC was released. 

As a current IAB member, and speaking for myself...

Well, say what you will about whether you believe me, but all THREE of
those are important to me, personally.  No standards organization
produces perfect results, but you have far less chance of spotting a
problem if you hide your processes from the public, reduce the voice of
experts, and don't pay attention to operational experience.
