Wikis usually have a mechanism to look at old content. Wouldn't that
be more practical than preserving an ever-increasing number of wikis
of what is, by its very nature, not really stable information?
The per-meeting Wiki model has been used by SIPit for years now, and
it's immensely useful. In that case it's also private (only visible to
the registered meeting attendees), which allows for a bit more freedom
to use it for coordinating logistics, outside events and the like. For
each meeting, a 'template' wiki site is copied to create the new meeting
Wiki, so that there is a structure in place and page templates ready to
be used for new content.
