work their way round this? Dyndns perhaps?  How about
some of the home VPN packages? Will remote desktop
continue to work? The list looks large in the draft, but
just how large is it in reality?

And these applications will continue to need to work around this since non-RFC is already used (for years), and will continue to be used in CGN zones.  The real issue is should this be controlled and predictable or not.  This draft in no way changes that reality but seeks to improve.
