I got the impression that the purpose of this was that the IETF Chair could ask someone else to attend a meeting (I specifically do not mean an IETF meeting) on s/he behalf. A typical reason might be due to need to attend to personal issues (i.e. can't travel for the next month due to sick mother....). For continuity reasons, having sent Person Y to meeting Z, it might make sense to continue to send Person Y for a period of a few months. -- ] He who is tired of Weird Al is tired of life! | firewalls [ ] Michael Richardson, Sandelman Software Works, Ottawa, ON |net architect[ ] mcr@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.sandelman.ottawa.on.ca/ |device driver[ Kyoto Plus: watch the video <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzx1ycLXQSE> then sign the petition. _______________________________________________ Ietf mailing list Ietf@xxxxxxxx https://www.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/ietf
