Our customers and business partners aren't willing to do this.  Even
"ICANN doesn't allow it" as an execuse would be essentially correct.

Yeah, and this chain of trust is simply not there, otherwise there
wouldn't be firewalls in the first place, just VPNs.

Sure, using proprietary protocols and whatnot.  Rather Utopian if each
customer buys from a different vendor.
