i agree.  so it's probably a good thing I didn't.

by the same token it does not make sense to include work that seems to have no relationship to the various (and varying) stated technical criteria.

Therefore, mentioned parallel work -- whether active or completed -- by way of demonstrating an implication, did, and does, seem useful.
