The independent submissions editor (ISE) publishes informational and experimental RFCs outside of the usual IETF and IRTF processes. On Friday 26 July, there will be an IAB-sponsored session at IETF 120 about the independent submission process. There will be an overview of the ISE function and process, including what sort of works are in and out of scope for independent submissions. However, most of the session will be devoted to gathering feedback from the community about how the process operates and its place within the broader RFC series. Likely topics of discussion include the publication of encryption algorithms on the independent stream and how IETF activities relate to the stream. The session will be chaired by Adrian Farrel and Mark Nottingham. If you're not able to attend, a recording will be available afterwards, and you can always email me with your questions or comments torfc-ise@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
