Hi Tobias

I’m guessing you missed the announcement from the IETF Chair that detailed the sending address and the link to that announcement in the message you received.  We know that we have a problem with not enough people subscribing to ietf-announce due primarily to the high volume of announcements to that list, and so some time ago the IESG asked for the creation of a new list important-news with much lower volume and only for the most important announcements.  We hope to have that up and running in the next few months.
