it seems unnecessary? Pseudocode is aimed at humans rather than computers, so a friendly lead-in might be more accessible.

If there were a strict grammar defined for pseudocode, i.e. to the point that you could feed it into a parser and get useful output, then there would be an argument for a delimiter token.
