Does the above include email? If so, it is not a technology which was invented by the IETF. The so-called IETF technologies do not create jobs at my location. Is there any evidence that it fuels the local economy?

I would love for IETF to survive and be strong given how its AFAIK
the only networking SDO that has free individual membership purely
based on contribution. My interest "how to handle the case when
the IETF should go away" is solely in how to avoid that to become
necessary.

Did you mean financial or some other contribution in the above?
