Dave Rand has been keep detailed stats for some time. he just reported in
another forum that spam to his server is up by a factor of 30 with respect
to 2 years ago. the comparison isn't strictly correct statistically; he
simply had a day where the domain got as much spam as it had gotten in a
month 2 years ago.

the situation is deteriorating rapidly.
