IOW, if the number of queries per day stays static, then the introduction of a TLD simply means that the average frequency per-TLD per-originator declines. In some cases this will result in more misses due to TLDs expiring from non-use. The off-set is that popular TLDs get and stay cached due to refreshes from multiple queries. Overall usage won't increase significantly. The logical conclusion of your argument is that we should stick everything into one big zone, with no hierarchy whatsoever. -- Eric A.
