Hello,
I have a Lenovo ThinkPad W520 4276-39U and am unable to control LCD
brightness.
The laptop is running Linux Mint 13 Maya, the distro-stock 3.2.0-23 kernel, the acpi_backlight=vendor boot parameter and, what appears to be, a fully patched thinkpad_acpi.ko. Not sure if it's relevant, though, it's running on an NVIDIA Quadro 1000M GF108GL set to discrete mode (I think), with X.Org X Server 1.11.3 and the NVIDIA version 295.40 driver.
When I click the Fn+Home or Fn+End (LCD brightness up and down), the brightness slider pops up, though the slider doesn't indicate changes, and there's no brightness change. Additionally, thinkpad_acpi is logging the following:
