Your right. Using "acpi_listen" command all the other keys do report themselves fine. So the only issue is the mute button. Also I don't know if you noticed but apparently Lenovo is going to start selling T61 & R61 with Suse SLED 10.3. This could be why Lenovo has add the Linux friendly mode.
