It works, though no change detected in the 0x31 register. Earlier in the thread i mentioned that g-p-m in Ubuntu Gutsy (7.10) using 2.6.22-rcx kernel picks up the correct brightness level. Since Richard is following this thread, maybe he can shed some light on why g-p-m picks up the brightness change even though thinkpad_acpi does not.
