For cpu online/offline testing the platform doenst need to support anything special. All cpus that are available can be onlined/offlined at will. (except BSP, but a patch is pending for that). Which I call logical online/offline. Support for physical cpu hotplug would require hw/bios(acpi) support to notify OS etc. Cheers, ashok raj - Open Source Technology Center >-----Original Message----- >From: hotplug_sig-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:hotplug_sig-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of >Bryce Harrington >Sent: Wednesday, May 25, 2005 7:05 AM >To: Silbermann, Martine >Cc: hotplug_sig@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx >Subject: Re: [Hotplug_sig] MINUTES for Hotplug SIG Con Call 05/24 > >On Wed, May 25, 2005 at 10:28:18AM -0400, Silbermann, Martine wrote: >> >> Summary list of ARs from this meeting: >> >> AR for Bryce: Find out exact configuration of ia64 itanium 2 in the OSDL >> lab > >According to Mark, the Itanium2 we have in the lab is an HP rx4640. >Here is the data sheet for this system: > > http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/11847_div/11847_div.PDF > >I read through it but did not see specific mention of hotplug for CPU or >memory.
