BMV, a web front-end for SqlBill

Hi,

as you probably know, the GnuGk distribution has included a billing
engine, SQLBill, since many years now. While it has been a reliable
backend, you have to know SQL pretty well to work with it, since it
completely lacked a front-end.

I'm pleased to announce, that Andrew Grillet has released his front-end,
BMV, under GPL for everyone to use. BMV is written in PHP and will run
nicely in your Apache web server. See the included README and INSTALL
files for instructions.

Right now, it provides a read-only view of SQLBill's data, but I would
encourage the community to extend it to support editing. Since this the
first public release, it might be a little rough around the edges, but
I think we'll improve it rapidly.

BMV will be included in future GnuGk releases under contrib/bmv2/.
You can download through the CVS or get a snapshot at

Regards,
Jan
